Stuck in a Dinosaur Age

This blogging thing, I still don't fully understand how to work all the little ins and outs of it all. However, learning new things is fun and finding new friends on here will be fun as well, since most people I know in real life have refused to blog for whatever their reasons.

Btw I will put up pictures once the latest painting is complete, still in the progress stages and drying time takes awhile with oils. A question I've decided to ask myself today is what do other people like about art? What kind of styles or themes or content they would like to see me paint?
Any comments feel free to leave, I'm always open to new ideas as an artist.

New website and new blog

Hello fellow bloggers and readers! I am new to the blogging world and this is my first entry of many about my artwork and hopefully some helpful tips or advice on art.

I'm sure every artist has one particular piece that they are not crazy about. I have an ocean scene that I did last year that I feel has "something missing" to it, but I just wasn't sure what it needed. At times like these a person might be compelled to paint the entire canvas white all over and start over again. I was very tempted but instead decided to add a few more details to the sky, with a lighthouse in the distance and some lightning bolts. Voila! Just a few details and the painting looks completely different and I'm much more satisfied with its results.
